Sat Update

Just a quick update. The last few days have been hard for Philip. He has been in a lot of pain the last few days. After some strong pain meds he got up today and is laying around watching a movie with a friend.

Amy's recovery is very hard and today she is in a lot of pain. Today has been the hardest yet. Her incision is draining and her face and neck are very swollen. This makes it impossible for her to eat and she is having a hard time swallowing. Both is these issues have lead to the pain medicine causing her to be sick. A hard time for her. But the Dr had warned of us the recovery for this operation would be long and hard.

Amy is unable to talk on the phone or check her messages. And she is not able to go online. But I have told her of the support in her blog.

Thank you for the support,
Jim

You are a wonderful man...thank you so much for updating us on both Amy and Philip. I am in constant prayer for her and Philip they are on my heart often throughout the day. I also wore the shirt she sent me today...I love it! My daughter even said, "Mommy, I really like your shirt". Thanks again for the updates. We all appreciate them so much.

That sounds so hard - both of them. As a dad & husband it must be hard to feel so helpless.

I hope each day gets easier now for Amy. Third day post-op can be so rough! I hope she's able to allow herself to rest.

Thank you Jim. Man I hate all the physical pain that Philip and Amy are going through right now. I hate the emotional pain that YOU Jim are going through and the rest of your sweet family. Prayers pour out every waking moment. Jim... you and me need to talk about tomorrow... please give me a call... Amy's cell has the number. Please call ANYTIME after 11a today (Sunday). Thx.

Jim, although you didn't have very good news, I am so thankful you are taking the time to keep us updated. Amy and Philip are very lucky to have you. I'm sure she knows that, but we'll remind her when she gets better.

Jim: Thank you for your update. Please know that I too am a caretaker (for my husband) and at times I just feel overwhelmed, confused, frustrated and sad. My prayers are for your entire family and you. Stay strong - and pray a lot. It has definitely helped me at times where I felt I couldn't go on any further.

Please give my love to Amy!

Jim - Thank you so much for keeping us updated on Amy and Phillip's condition. Even though the news isn't real good... I still like to hear the updates as I am a concerned bloggy friend. Please let her know that I am thinking of her and wishing her well. Keeping ALL of you guys in my prayers and you are never far from my thoughts. Give Amy some gentle hugs for me.

Hi Amy! I'm a lil confused at what is going on. I wonder, did I miss something on the caringbridge? You are the last person that needs this. I'm in the hospital w/ Reese right now. We thought maybe it was his shunt, but its not. He's very sick and they dont' know what is wrong w/ him. His heart rate hangs out in the 50's, 1/2 of what it used to be. I haven't cried this much since his last heart surgery. I just want you to know that my prayers are w/ you. You are a very strong person and have no doubt you'll sail thru, but you need a lil rest right now. By the way, I love the music!

I know you know this better than anyone Jim, but you and Amy are an insparation as a couple. I'm going to have my husband read this blog. AND I'm going to stop fussing when he leaves his socks on the floor! Don't sweat the small stuff eh?
