No comment to qualify for the "giveaway" but a comment to say I am thinking of you and Phillip and sending prayers for healing and strength for both of you. I would need to think awhile for a warm your heart thought. I think I need another cup of coffee to get my heart warmed up...then I might come up with one. In the mean time...Good thoughts, pray for a miracle and believe that one will happen. Know that God gives us the desires of our heart and that he never ever forsakes us. Take care sweet girl.

Well, you sure made the stakes high! I've never had a baby -- do dogs and cats count? I don't have a page or a blog. I could clean your house -- but I really should get around to cleaning mine first. Just for you, I'm adding here ... lmbo!

Oh, the main thing is, the shirt wouldn't fit me anyway, but I guess if I won, I could give it to someone else except I would want you to have it because it looks just right on you, and I wouldn't want to see it on anyone else.

I will think about the holiday memories and get back with you because I'm sure I have lots of them. Really good ones ...

Amy,

I will continue to pray for you and Philip.
Ok, here is my story...Quick version.
A family at my work found out her husband has cancer. She is pregnant with her 2nd child and has a child with Special needs. He got laid off. I wanted to give them money to help them a little through the holidays. Since we are trying to teach the kids about giving, we told them that we wanted to give this family some money but in order to do that(not really, but to make a point) they had to be willing to give up 2 Christmas presents each. They all three said ok. I was so proud of my kids. So we gave the money to them...& the very next week, my husbands work sent him an email saying they made a mistake on the insurance and that he would be getting X amount of money (double what we gave that family) back in his check the next week. We were not giving them money to get anything, but just wanting to bless someone else by giving. God is so good.
Sorry it was so long...but that touched me this past week. MY kids being willing to give and God giving back to us. He is so good!

I was really touched by all the thought and prayers this past weekend.

I know I have wonderful people around me. But my church family was just so awesome! My pastor called me and I really needed that.

We are a very growing church and it' nice to know that we still have that small church feeling.

They sent Noah balloons and sent God alot of prayers!!

Not that I need to put my name in the hat for the giveaway... but if I won, you'd save on postage, right?

One of my fondest memories of Christmas...
We always went to Christmas Eve service at our church... started at 11p. Because it was such big churchgoing day the service always ran past midnight... thus it was officially Christmas day, right?

Mom and Dad sung in the choir. Us kids, when we were younger... didn't. So at Christmas eve service we sat elsewhere in the church. It was always a big game to see who could get Mom's eye first after midnight... you know her Birthday was Christmas and all.... We each wanted to be the first to mouth "happy birthday mom". As things typically go... my bro usually did not win that game... but we all played the game each year.

BTW... I will say that I won most years... I can do that... because my memory is better than my bro or sis... HA

Then more current... We always leave out some mini raw carrots for the reindeer, a couple of chocolate chip cookies and some CHOCOLATE milk for Santa. Santa gets tired of drinking only white milk... so we change it up for him at our house... yummy NesQuik Chocolate milk for the Big Guy at our house. Sometimes I wonder if he swings around 2x at our place so he can get more chocolate milk... the # of gifts under the tree sure make that seem like a possibility.

Love ya Gal!

You know Amy? I have one more... does this mean I get in the drawing 2x? Hummm?

A tradition that I started when the kids were really young... probably still at the stage where they would pull the tree down because they were toddlers.... It has grown into one of the most important traditions I hold near and dear to my heart. I won't say the details... but I think you will know what I'm talking about. Okay? There is something that gets hung on the tree each year. Actually there are several "must have on the tree" or it's not Christmas type things... but all but ONE are from my childhood or my mom's childhood. This one in particular is something I started... I would love to be able to have it bless others as it has blessed me. Each year the girls ask when we will hang it on the tree, I won't tell them. They've enjoyed trying to figure out when and where I hang it... HA. It's always something I do when no one else is around. It's not something to boast about or put a spotlight on... it's about my deepest feelings about what Christmas is all about for me. It brings me joy on the days that are not so happy, it helps me remember how blessed I am, it brings me joy on the days that are happy too.

I pray that it is a blessing for you to hear this tradition... Look for an email from me too.

OK, don't put me in the drawing because I am already blessed enough to be your Shirt Sister, but I still wanted to tell you what warms my heart. YOU!

Yes, you warm my heart. Because when you e-mail me you are always funny and upbeat and honest...and I love that about you. I am SO glad that we met each other through bloggyland! I feel I am truly blessed by knowing you!

Oh, and my Things make me feel all warm and fuzzy too. ;) Ang

Hey girl! WOW! You're giving away THE shirt!! Just love it!! The story I want to share is actually unfolding as I type. This week I got a call from a good friend who is 30 weeks pregnant. She started spotting and going into labor on Tuesday. She was immediately hospitalized and after 3 days in the hospital she came home this afternoon. We've been taking care of her little girl. She is precious. The next 8 weeks or so will be tough. We will do everything within our power to help us this sweet friend of ours. Her husband is a medical student and their families are in AZ. They are here all by themselves. I am grateful for the Lord's guiding hand and for the assurance that His will is perfect. I'm so grateful for the gift of His Son, my Savior and for His healing power.

Ok I'm just so glad Ang took herself out since she is already SHIRTED!! That girl makes me laugh!

OK, little story that warmed me. We were on our way to church Wed night. It was W, C, the girl and our friend J who goes with us every week. As we were getting off the hwy on the exit ramp, we saw a broken down car. The hood was up and the driver was on his cell. J said "Hey W, you don't ever want to stop for people like that cause they'll steal your money". W didn't comment. So J said again "W, did you hear me those people will steal your money". This time W said "Well maybe, but I would still want to stop and help him anyway".
Oh yeah, you go boy!
PS The broken down driver did have help!

Here is something I hope will warm your heart:

Our house burned down when our 3rd child was a year old. The cause of the fire was bad wiring in the attic, and we were glad to all get out alive, as the fire stuck in the middle of the night. The exit point of the fire from the attic into the house was in our baby's room. The only reason he survived was that our oldest child was sleeping in the baby's room, as we had out of town company sleeping in her bedroom.

Anyway, we did all get out, and we even were able to get our two dogs out, too. But the house was, for the most part, a total loss. It had to be taken down to the slab, and the block walls. Before the house was taken down, I went back to see what could be salvaged. Very little was found untouched. But, in a coat closet that was so incinerated that it took my husband and myself quite awhile to identify the remains of what had, at one time been a vacuum cleaner, I found a large box of our Christmas decorations. As I carefully went through this box, everything appeared charred and ruined.

I had possession of all of the ornaments from my family's childhood Christmas decorations. All of those decorations were gone, just totally burned. I dug further and further down into the box. As I got closer to the bottom, I finally found some items that were recognizable. Among those items, I found several handmade ornaments, given to us each year by a special family friend. And then, unbelievably, I found each of our children's "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments.

The following Christmas, we had been back in our rebuilt house a month or so. As we decorated our tree, it was a very special time. We had many new ornaments and decorations. But as we decorated our tree that Christmas, as we took out those ornaments that had been salvaged from the fire, our oldest child spoke from her heart. She told us how wonderful she thought it was that God had saved those "special" ornaments for us, that God must really have wanted us to have those ornaments.

This Christmas will be the eighteenth Christmas we will hang those "special" ornaments on our Christmas tree. Each year we are thankful - not just that we have these ornaments - but that we know that God loves us and blesses us. Not because we all got out of that fire. But because he is God and he blesses us always, through the good AND through the bad.

What I realized through our experience is that God blesses us, whatever our circumstance, good or bad. God's blessing is that He is with us, no matter what. Not what the outcome is of our circumstance, but that He will always be with us.

One thing that warms my heart this Christmas, is how much SO many people love you, Amy, and care deeply about you and your whole family. People that have met you, people that have talked to you, as well as people that have never met, and never spoken to you. Please know that you and your family are covered in prayer.
